NIETZER & HÄUSLER
Baden-Württemberg (outside Stuttgart)
Comment: This respected firm bases its specialty in US law on an increasingly broad foundation. N&H complemented its existing cooperations in the US for employment and product liability with a further cooperation with an accounting/tax advisory firm. M&A work evolved into a stable pillar for the firm, with N&H advising shareholders from EliteMediaNet on the company’s sale, for example. Additionally, a further field developed in arbitrational litigation, which began with the firm representing a claimant in a highly-publicized dispute before the Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof) concerning the enforceability of foreign arbitration awards and judgments.
Strengths: Deep roots in the regional Mittelstand and extensive experience in US law. Cooperation network with firms in the US.
Recommended lawyers: Prof. Wolf Nietzer (“very competent and reliable”, client).
Practice: A large part of the work involves US aspects. The rest involves Mittelstand clients from south Germany on commercial, corporate, contract law and M&A. Also IP and employment, litigation, arbitration and notary work. Clients are mostly Mittelstand companies from the manufacturing industry and IT. Solid cooperation in the US with Wildes & Weinberg, the accounting/tax advisory firm DeMera DeMera Cameron and insurance broker Johnson Kendall & Johnson (predominantly product liability and risk management). (3 partners, 7 associates)
Clients: Senior shareholder on sale of EliteMediaNet to Tomorrow Focus; Mayer-Kuvert-network on acquisition of NC Couvert; DSB on joint venture with DPV Direct; ongoing advice to Armstrong Group, Beyerdynamic, Uzin Utz, WüBa Versicherung, Atlanta Antriebssysteme, Allgaier, Abas and Schunk on commercial, corporate and US law.
